TMC Race overview 17/3/18 - HaiBike Mini Enduro Rd1
"It was Cold. I think I died!"
The weekend saw the start of the racing season for the TMC, with three riders heading to BikePark Wales to race at Round 1 of the Haibike Mini Enduro Series.
Over 75 riders in all three of our teams category; '19-29 Men'. James Gould, George Rickman & James Windley had taken to the Welsh cycling destination. With a good preseasons worth of training and riding under their belts they were expecting a tough field but to be competitive and to get back into the riding vibe.
It was also the first competitive outing for the team using the Merida One Sixty 800 bikes and racing not only as TMC riders but also as Merida UK Ambassadors! Check out the Team Page for the Team bike features!
The format is for both practice and racing to all be done on the same day, (Sat 17/3/18 - which was St. Paddy's day and I could think of a better application of time...!) Practice lap in the morning, Race lap in the afternoon. All 3 timed sections would be downhill - no uphill timed sections at this Race!
Throughout the day, the riders would complete around 20miles - essentially 10 miles per lap.
Results:
The event will most likely be the coldest on the calendar for our riders - with most of the UK hit with snow the BPW uplift service was actually shut and cancelled for the weekend.
